Boatbreakers Youtube
The Boatbreakers Youtube channel has surpassed 10,000 subscribers! At the time of writing the channel has just reached 11,100. It’s all down to two videos going viral for us. The first video to hit big numbers was of a sunken fishing boat in Portsmouth Harbour. That video was our first video to go semi viral and eventually hit 800k views. We were happy that it went so high but we were always slightly disappointed that it didn’t reach 1 million views. It did however drag our subscriber numbers up past 2,ooo which allowed us to monetise the channel.
Since then the channel has ticked along nicely and the thousands of views the sunken boat vid continued to help. Other older videos also benefitted from the increased traffic to the channel. Going from 10k views to 40k or 50k.
Boatbreakers Shorts
Boatbreakers Video really took off with the introduction of Shorts. Shorter videos like Tiktok and plenty of viral potential to get lots of views. The first shorts we posted instantly got thousands of views and we realised it had great potential for growth.
In January 2023 another boat has succumbed to the heavy weather in Portsmouth Harbour. We were asked by the boat owner’s insurance company to Salvage the boat and remove her for disposal. As part of the process the boat had to be towed under water to get her to the nearest slipway. It was at this point we saw an opportunity for another video.
You can see the video for yourself here and see if you agree that it was the perfect video to make. To put it simply the video went crazy, and at the time of writing has gone past 6 million views. It has also poured rocket fuel on our subscribers and got us up to 11k+. A few years ago reaching 10k subscribers would have earned us a trophy from Youtube. Sadly the first target to get a trophy is 100k so we still have some work to do.
Road to 100k
100k subscribers and a Youtube trophy is our main aim now for the channel. We will aim to film as much of what we are up to as possible. We will fill the channel with boat disposal, project boats and any funny clips we see along the way. If that sounds like something you’d like to be a part of then Subscribe. You can also join our Boat Scrapyard Facebook group to keep up to date with what we have in. If you have a boat that needs to be scrapped then just use our Scrap Calculator.
