Here is a rundown on our latest boat collections and what is scheduled to be in for scrap soon. It’s been a busy month for us as we have received lots of enquiries for our boat disposal services. Usually, this time of year is when boat owners are testing the water and giving themselves options. Many will then try and sell their boat before ultimately cutting their losses and choosing to scrap the boat.

Maxum SC1900

This Maxum was in the dry stack at Premier Marina Gosport. After a number of years of ownership with very little use the boat’s owner decided it was time to save some money and get us to collect the boat. Mechanically there probably isn’t much wrong with her but as some pigeons have been living under the covers for the last year she will need a good clean. Once she is clean we will assess what we think is best for the boat and whether the boat could be saved as a project. Her engine and outdrive seem like they will work which is the biggest positive.

Dawncraft 30

The Dawncraft is coming to us from Norwich. Her owners no longer wanted to own the boat and realised that realistically the boat probably wouldn’t sell quick enough in her current condition. We did suggest that they listed the boat on eBay to sell but they instead chose to instruct us to remove her.

We are hoping that there will be some recoverable items onboard that we can use/recycle. Usually the engines will have some value as will the steering gear.

Hunter Ranger 245

The Hunter Ranger 245 has been sat in a baot yard for a couple of years untouched and unused. The engine is also seized so the owner decided that it was a wise move to consider scrapping the boat instead of trying to sell. The boat probably could be sold on as a project however the time it would take to sell would then end up costing the owner more time/money.

Fishing Boat

This wooden fishing boat is coming to us from Eastbourne. Her owner no longer gets to use the boat and has been unable to sell her. Add to this the mounting fees he is being charged by the marina for storage and it became an easy decision to scrap her. Like the other boats we are hoping that there may be some items on board that have some recoverable value.
