Speedboat Removal and Recycling in Epsom

Speedboat Removal and Recycling in Epsom
We were asked to remove an old speedboat from a garage near Epsom. In a new record for us we actually managed to collect the same day as the owner gave us the go ahead. We happened to have a gap in the afternoon and as Epsom isn’t so far we sent the team straight away. We’re not sure the owner was expecting such a quick turnaround.
Collecting small fibreglass speedboats from domestic garages presents a common, yet often intricate, task for boat disposal services. Our recent retrieval from a garage in Epsom, destined for our boat scrapyard in Portsmouth, exemplifies the typical process. The speedboat, a testament to past recreational adventures, had reached the end of its functional life, requiring a careful and efficient removal.
Speedboats, while relatively small, can still be cumbersome, especially when surrounded by other stored items. Our team arrived with a suitable boat trailer, designed for easy manoeuvrability and secure transport. The key was to extract the fibreglass hull without causing damage to either the boat or the surrounding property. We did bring our own trailer as we didn’t want to trust the old one she was on.
Carefully, the speedboat was eased onto the trailer. This involved assessing the boat’s condition, securing it with appropriate straps, and ensuring a balanced load distribution. The trailer’s design, with adjustable supports and rollers, proved invaluable in facilitating this process.
Speedboat Unloaded
The journey from Epsom to Portsmouth required careful planning. Road conditions, traffic, and the trailer’s stability were all taken into consideration. The fibreglass hull, while durable, required secure fastening to prevent movement during transit.
Upon arrival at our boat scrapyard in Portsmouth, the speedboat was unloaded. This involved carefully reversing the trailer and, with the aid of our on-site equipment, gently removing the boat. The fibreglass material, though resistant to many elements, required careful handling to prevent cracking or splintering during the unloading process.
Dismantling and Recycling
The speedboat was then placed in the designated area for dismantling and recycling. The process of fibreglass boat disposal involves separating the hull from any remaining components, such as engines or interior fittings. The fibreglass itself is then processed, with the aim of minimising environmental impact. This collection from Epsom to Portsmouth highlights the efficient and environmentally conscious approach taken by modern boat disposal services.

Luke completed a journalism degree in Brighton University and fortunately for us uses this in his communications, Facebook posts, Tweets and emails to tell all our enquirers and followers what we are up to. Without Luke we would be lost, he runs the office, keeps us organised and is like a terrier and never lets a tricky boat disposal job go un-photographed or Tweeted about.
He also manages all of our enquiries passing them to whoever in the team is the best suited to deal with it. We are teaching Luke how to drive a motorboat or sail a yacht so while he’s learning we suggest you keep out of the Solent!
When he’s not at work he’s a massive football fan (his Dad used to play for Portsmouth FC years ago) and seems to know everything there is to know about any player, anywhere. Next time you ring and he answers, think of a tricky football trivia question and ask him
