South East Boat Breaking in Kent

The Boatbreakers team were in the South East to collect an old motor boat from a farm in Faversham. In the south east boat breaking seems to be an important practice as there are so many boats that are at the end of life. This boat we believe had been stored on the farm but the owner had died. The boat had then sat there for a number of years until the land owners decided to have her removed.

The boat was on an old trailer surrounded by trees and bushes. But thankfully the owner of the land had use of a tractor to get her into a more accessible location. From the first pictures we had been sent it looked a tricky collection. As the trailer definitely wasn’t road worthy. Plus any time you have to dig a boat out of a bush or tree it’s time consuming. Our team did have the cutting gear ready just incase we needed to bring out the big guns.

Boat Disposal Yard

Our plan was to turn up and hopefully pull the boat off of her trailer onto our own. Thankfully this was exactly how the plan came together. It took some elbow grease and tactical winching. But we had her safely loaded on our road safe trailer. We then returned the boat to one of our south east boat breaking yards for disposal. As was expected with such an old boat there wasn’t anything of any real value to have removed from the boat.
