Westerly Pentland Re-Homed

The team are always happy to see a boat re-homed. Especially when they come into our inbox as a scrap enquiry. We had been contacted by the owner of the Pentland about a month ago. As luck would have it we had already seen the boat up close as we had scrapped the boat stored next to her. At the time we saw her we though that she would be a perfect boat for us to share through the Lonely Boats site. When the owner asked us for a scrap price we were quick to suggest that we would save her instead.

A visit was arranged and our team photographed the Westerly Pentland ready for a potential advert. We discussed what sort of price the owner would be happy to take. He also explained that it was family circumstances of becoming a grandfather that had meant he couldn’t spend much time on on the boat. Other life events are always a big factor in people not using their boats. Most of the Lonely boats we deal with have been left due to changes in the owner’s circumstances.

Lonely Boats Advert

Like all of our Lonely Boat adverts the Westerly Pentland was shared into our Facebook group and gained plenty of interest. Our team were able to send the owner a long list of potential suitors for the boat. After a week or two we received a message from the owner to say she was saved. This not only put some money in his pocket, but saved him the ongoing storage fees or potential scrap costs.
