Anderson 22 Disposal
The Boat breaking team were in Chandler’s Ford to remove an Anderson 22 from an owner’s driveway. Like every job to remove a boat from a garden or driveway we know it makes a big difference one we’ve completed the removal. Owners might even be able to have friends of family park on the drive when they come over!
Her owner explained that she was no longer likely to be fixed up and taken back to the water. So after he had stripped the boat down he asked our team to remove her.
Stripped Hull
Her owner asked to retain the mast for a garden project. We guess this will end up becoming a flag pole. Her engine was already out and her owner is going to try and sell on to get some funds back against the scrap cost. All of the interior had been removed, it was literally a GRP shell with some internal wooden structure.
The Anderson 22 was sat on a road trailer which looked in ok condition. We always air on the side of caution with trailers. As although many owners will tell us that they’re good to go. We know that bearings, rust and old tyres can be dangerous. Because of this we decided to send our Hiab truck to collect the whole lot.
No Worries
On the day of collection the owner pulled the boat up to the edge of his drive. This meant our truck could simply come alongside and set out the legs to lift her on. Our team had already checked the access to loading the boat so we had no worries there would be any problems.
